Prelude To a Bite

Content Advisory: Erotic
The ticking of the clock on the wall was the only sound in the room. This interview had been scheduled for over a month and confirmed twice and he was late. The sound check should have ended half an hour ago. Normally, Jana didn’t get nervous but Cooper Gray was the lead singer of one of her favorite bands.
The door burst open and slammed against the wall, shaking some plaster loose. A stocky man strode in, muttering to himself. He dropped his guitar on the floor before locking eyes on her.
“Who the fuck are you? I didn’t order a hooker.” He pulled his long, dark hair into an elastic band.
The loud bang of him slamming the door shut startled her and she jumped. Her voice caught in her throat. For once, she was at a loss for words. Her fingers shook as she groped for her press pass.
He rolled his eyes. “Another damn reporter. Great.”
“If this is a bad time—”
“You just can’t stop bothering people. Can you?” he yelled, moving closer, leering at her. “How did you get in here?”
Warning bells sounded in her head. She needed to get out of there before this got ugly. It wasn’t the first time she’d found herself in an unsavory situation while pursuing a story but this wasn’t a cold lead. She had a damned appointment.
The door creaked open slowly and another man stuck his head in. “Everything okay, Coop?”
Cooper whirled around. “Fuck off!”
The man stepped into the room. “Dude. Chill out. What’s the problem?” He was much taller than Cooper and rather imposing.
“I’m tired of these stupid bimbos poking their noses into my business. I’m out of here.” Cooper stormed out of the room slamming the door again.
Fame goes to some people’s heads. Jana couldn’t believe what an asshole he turned out to be. And to think she’d been a fan of his band. She made a mental note to toss that CD in the trash when she got home.
The stranger didn’t say anything but his mouth curved into a sympathetic smile revealing some sizable teeth.
Wait…are those…fangs? Oh, stop it you dumb blonde. He doesn’t have fangs, just big teeth. Look at him…everything is big.
Jana shivered. An image flashed in her mind of him scraping his teeth over her flesh. Her pulse sped up and her mouth went dry as her adrenaline spiked even higher.
She shook the scene from her brain and exhaled audibly and put her trembling hand to her throat. “What the hell is wrong with him?”
“Ego. Bigger than this arena. And he’s a moody bastard.”
She rested her face in her hands. “Jesus Christ, I need a drink.”
“You want a Coke?”
“I meant something a little stronger,” she said.
He laughed. “I don’t think you need that.”
A mini refrigerator sat in the corner beside a table covered with small bags of chips and trail mix and an empty Jack Daniels bottle. Typical rock star dressing room.
He removed a can of soda and popped the top. “Here.”
She sipped the Coke. “Thanks, again.”
“Feeling better?” He flashed another smile.
“I’m not a bimbo, you know.”
“I didn’t say you were.”
“No. But he did.”
“And after the way he just behaved, you’re inclined to give some credence to his opinion?”He sat down on the chair at the table and waited while she finished her drink.
She grabbed her notebook and purse and stood up.
“Are you okay? Ready to blow this pop stand?” He walked toward the door.
“Yes and yes.”
“I’ll walk you to your car.” He stepped aside, leaving room for her to pass.
“I don’t have a car here. I’m staying at the Hilton, so I walked over. I didn’t want to deal with the traffic.”
“Okay. I’ll walk you back then.” He pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his jeans pocket and shook one out, balancing it precariously between his lips. The street light above them glinted off the shiny silver Zippo as he lit the cigarette.
“Got an extra?”
He smiled. “There’s only twenty in a pack. No extras, but I’ll give you one.”
She laughed and shook her head. “Smart ass.”
He offered the pack to her and she took one out. He lit it for her and she pulled in a drag. She didn’t smoke often but her nerves needed it tonight. Normally, she wouldn’t be rattled by someone like Cooper Gray. But she was disappointed in how he turned out to be.
She stared at him. “How did you know there was a problem?”
He blew out smoke and said, “I heard him yelling at you.”
She looked down at her shoes. “I’ve interviewed jerks like him before, but he did scare me. I don’t know what I did to piss him off so bad.”
“It’s not your fault. He’s always a motherfucker.”
“If you hadn’t stepped in, I may have pepper sprayed him.”
As they approached the hotel entrance, he dropped his cigarette and stepped on it. “You wanna get some coffee? There’s a little cafĂ© inside.”
She did the same with her cigarette. “Sure.” Since the interview didn’t take place, she had some time to kill.
The hostess seated them in a booth toward the back of the diner and left menus in the middle of the table.
“Are you hungry?” he asked.
“Not really. I’ll just have coffee.”
A dark haired waitress pulled a pad from her apron and shifted her weight from one foot to the other. “What can I get for you folks?”
“Two coffees, please,” he said, handing the menus to her.
“You got it.” She dropped the pad back into her pocket.
Once they had their coffee and a full carafe, Jana took a sip. “You’re not like other guys. I can’t fully put my finger on it, but there’s something different about you.”
He smirked. “I hear that a lot.”
She leaned forward. “I bet you do.” His hair hung just past his shoulders and he looked like he needed a shave, not the type she was usually attracted to but something about him drew her in.
“You’re not from around here, are you?” he asked.
“No. I’m here on business.”
“For how long?”
“Two more days.”
He nodded his head. “Cool.”
“So, are you in a band?” she inquired, adding more sugar to her coffee and swirling a spoon around her cup.
He laughed and the corners of his eyes crinkled slightly. “No.”
“Do you work for Cooper?”
“Not directly, no. I work for the arena. Are you interviewing me, Miss…”
“Mills. Jana Mills. And I’m trying not to.”
“Nice name.”
“And you are?”
“Sean.”
“Okay, Sean. Nice to meet you.” She held her hand out.
He shook it gently. “Likewise.”
His hand was twice the size of hers and she didn’t want to let go. Tranquility filled her, pulsing through her veins and she closed her eyes. All the anxiety dissipated. Her bunched up nerves uncoiled and relaxed. Had she been lying down, she would have fallen asleep.
Jana opened her eyes and found him watching her. “What did you just do?”
His eyes glinted gold. “I’m not doing anything. You’re simply unwinding yourself.”
“How do you do that thing with your eyes?”
He smirked. “You ask a lot of questions, Jana.”
She pulled her hand away. “I’m a reporter, so I’m curious by nature. I’m sorry.”
“No apology needed. I don’t mind.”
She bit her lip and looked him in the eye. “Thank you for saving my ass and for being so nice to me.”
“You’re welcome. You don’t have to keep thanking me. I didn’t really do anything but interrupt at an opportune time.”
“Perfect timing.”
He left money on the table to cover the bill and tip.
“I’ll walk you to your room. Make sure you get in okay,” he said, touching her back as they left the diner.
“Okay.” Thoughts popped into her head like a premonition. She couldn’t explain how, but she already knew she would invite him in.

Her room at the Hilton was nice. A king sized bed covered in a chocolate colored duvet sat in the center of the room. On either side, dark wood nightstands held expensive looking lamps. Jana dropped her purse and notebook on the overstuffed chair in the corner and turned around.
Sean stood in the foyer, leaned against the wall.
“Are you waiting for an invitation to come in?” she asked.
“Maybe.” He smiled.
Jana laughed. “Okay. Well, come on in. I need to get out of these heels.” Her feet ached and she kicked off her shoes. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she wiggled her toes and shrugged out of her cardigan. “That is so much better.”
“Nice room.”
“The newspaper usually puts us up in decent hotels. Do you want a drink?” She pointed at the refrigerator. “It’s stocked.”
“These hotels ream you on those little bottles.”
“Don’t worry about it. Drinks are on the house.” She smiled and opened the door revealing an assortment of alcohol. “What’s your poison, Sean?”
He took a bottle of Maker’s Mark and Jana opted for tequila. They clinked their bottles together.
“Cheers,” she said.
They emptied a few bottles each and after benignly chatting for awhile they fell silent. The only window in the room stretched from floor to ceiling. He walked over and pulled the drapes aside. “There’s a full moon tonight.” He looked at her over his shoulder.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, she sucked in her breath. In that instance, she’d never wanted someone to envelop her more and she had no idea why. She didn't hop into bed with strangers.
His eyes bore into her, breaking down what was left of her defenses and chasing away her inhibitions. He took a step toward her. He toed off his shoes and took another step.
Unable and unwilling to look away, Jana wrapped her arms around herself to stifle a shiver. Butterflies bounced around her stomach and she wanted him in a way she couldn’t explain.
As if reading her mind, Sean pulled his t-shirt over his head and dropped it on the floor.
Mesmerized by the smooth muscles of his chest and the bulge of his biceps, Jana bit her lip to keep her mouth from dropping open. Sweet Jesus.
He crossed the room and took her hands in his, lifting her to her feet.
The thought to say no didn’t cross her mind as his hands snaked underneath her top and tugged at the cups of her bra. She removed her shirt and reached behind her back to unhook her bra.
Sean looked down at her bare chest and back up to her face. He cupped her chin between his thumb and finger, tipping her head up. “You’re gorgeous.” He brought his mouth down on hers, harder than she expected.
She grabbed his arm to steady herself as his tongue swept over her lips and pushed into her mouth.
His fingers lightly traced a line from her shoulder to her breast. He strummed her nipple, coaxing it into a hard point and sending a jolt straight to her pussy.
Her knees weakened and she moaned into his mouth.
He continued to play with her nipple before pulling out of the kiss and lowering his face to her chest. He closed his lips over the pink tip and sucked gently.
Jana’s hands trembled as she placed them on his head, weaving her fingers into his light brown hair. She looked down at the tattoo on his back. The swirls of color and image intoxicated her, making her head spin.
Sean bit down on her nipple and his other hand slipped under her skirt.
Her clit throbbed in anticipation of his touch. She stepped her feet apart to give him better access.
He rubbed her through her panties and looked up at her face, releasing her nipple from his teeth. “You like that?”
She nodded and tried to control her breathing. “Yes.”
He straightened and grabbed her hips, pulling her against him, his obvious arousal pressing into her stomach before he picked her up and set her back on the bed. Lifting her ass up, he pulled her skirt over her hips and tossed it aside, leaving her clad in just her panties.
Popping the buttons on his jeans, he never broke eye contact. His strong jaw tensed as he let his pants fall to the floor.
She looked at his naked form, her eyes settling on his thick cock. Her limbs tingled and her pulse accelerated. Instinctively, she opened her legs, silently beckoning him to take her.
Kneeling on the bed, he crawled between her legs and pushed her thighs open wider. He hooked a finger into the crotch of her panties and pulled them aside. “Mmmm…I’m going to enjoy every drop of this.” A low growl sounded from his throat like a hungry animal. He spread her open, exposing her swollen clit.
Jana gasped as his tongue made tiny circles around her sensitive nub. She dug her heels into the mattress and ground her pussy against his mouth.
He closed his lips on her clit and sucked gently.
She arched her back and trembled, already on the verge of coming. Every ounce of tension in her body gathered in the spot where his mouth covered her.
His fingers found her slit and he pushed two inside, curving them up to stroke her G-spot.
“Oh, God. God. I’m gonna come,” she panted. Her body tensed and her clit pulsed.
Sean sucked harder and slid his fingers deeper into her cunt. His other hand slipped under her ass and squeezed hard.
Her muscles turned fluid and her vision blurred. She clutched at his head, trying to hold onto to her consciousness. Her breath caught and everything went black. His growls filled the silence as he devoured her; licking, sucking, biting. The sensation intensified and she erupted in one delicious wave after another.
“Damn. You’re so wet. I can’t wait to slide my cock in you.”
She exhaled and tried to move her arms. She blinked and he slowly came back into focus, poised above her.
His eyes shone gold and his breathing grew heavy. “I can’t wait any longer.” His voice changed, taking on a gravely, animalistic tone.
He pulled her panties down her legs and left them on the edge of the bed.
Her hands slid up his chest, dragging her nails to his shoulders where she gripped him.
Using his hips, he inched her legs apart. He pulled her arms away from his chest and locked his hands with hers, holding them beside her head. He leaned in close to her neck. “Don’t be afraid, Jana.”
“I-I’m not,” she whispered.
“I can smell your fear…and your arousal. You can’t lie to me.” He scraped his teeth over her collarbone. “I won’t hurt you.”
His erection pressed against her inner thigh and he slid up slightly, positioning himself at her entrance.
She moaned. “I want you.”
He rocked his hips, burying his cock inside her.
She whimpered. He filled her and stretched her like no one ever had. She lifted her legs, silently encouraging him to delve deeper.
“Fuck." He gritted his teeth. "So hot. So tight.” He pulled back and entered her again, establishing a steady rhythm, going deeper with each thrust. He let go of her hands and cupped her face. Lowering his lips to hers, he kissed her softly, stroking her cheek with his thumb. With every thrust, his shaft rubbed the sensitive spot inside her and the familiar tension gathered, building a delicious pressure. She reached between her legs, her fingertips feeling his dick sliding into her pussy. Her body tightened and she massaged her clit.
“That’s right. Come for me, again. I want to feel it.”
“Oh, yes. I am. I’m coming. Sean…” She gathered the bedspread into her clenched fist as her body quaked with the second release and she screamed.
“Good girl.” He ground his cock deep into her.
On the verge of hyperventilating, Jana pulled in several deep breaths.
He nuzzled her breast, licking her nipple. “You alright, babe?”
She nodded.
“Good. Because I’m not done with you yet,” he whispered, sucking the hard peak.
A primal sound built in his throat and he reached under her to grip her shoulders. Burying his face against her neck, he panted. Scraping his teeth over her skin, he bit her and sucked.
An odd calm spread through her as he rocked his hips in a slow, deep rhythm.
He’s hypnotizing me. He must be. But, damn, it feels so good.
His body stiffened and he broke the suction on her neck. Groaning, he twitched and pulsed inside her.

Cuddled up against his shoulder, she couldn’t help but feel like Sean had done more than fuck her brains out tonight. There was a palpable shift in the atmosphere. She felt claimed. And she was okay with it, even if it was just for this night.
“Are you sleepy?” he asked, running his fingers through her hair.
“Not really. Just thinking about what a great story we would make.” She laughed.
“Maybe you should write it.”
“No. I don’t think I could put what happened between us down in words. I’ve never been with anyone like you.” She looked up at him and touched his jaw.
Moonlight filtered into the room through a crack in the drapes and his eyes flashed gold once more. “Tell me something, Jana. Have you ever interviewed a vampire?”
