Sex Toy Tester Reporting for Booty!

One of the funniest things to happen to me all year was getting contacted by a company to do a sex toy product review. The email lighted my system with adrenaline and excitement. Me? Getting free products in the mail? Who could ask for anything more?

I eagerly awaited the product shipment. I squealed like a schoolgirl when I opened it. The Innervibe people were incredibly generous. They sent me a Weekend Bliss Pleasure Pack to test and one to give away to a lucky commenter today. Everyone is eligible, and a winner will be picked randomly in 48 hours, details to follow the review.

The packaging is nice. Not embarrassing to bring to the counter if you find it in a store, no pictures of silicone enhanced models to make everyone within viewing range aware you bought something naughty, no product pictures or drawings to reveal what it contains. Discrete and classy.

Definitely something you could leave out and not worry if the kids, or a maid at a hotel, spied it on your nightstand. Which I did—and my kids ignored it.

Inside you'll find not one, but two vibrating toys: A nanovibe finger vibrator and a vibrating condom ring.  I did a review months ago on the ring, and will not cover it again in order to be able to mention all the other goodies. But I will say this newer version does stretch better around the penis for comfort and the motor seems more powerful. Overall though, I'd say my rating stays the same at 3.5 Big O's out of 5.

The nanovibe is similar in size and materials; it is a decidedly different kettle of fish entirely. Whereas the ring does not always hit where you need it most, this gadget has no such drawbacks.

Here is what a reviewer on Amazon had to say:

After I received the fingervib, I had to give it a try on my GF. I kept it hid till just the right second and slid it on my finger. She went wild!
***
Since that's not nearly enough to go by, I decided to check one of my favorite places to buy fun stuff, Drugstore.com. Imagine my surprise when there were only two reviews to be found! I'm thinking this product must be newer than others.

I was happy and loved it, while it worked. The battery life was very disappointing, lasting only three days. Since you can't replace the battery that means it is no longer useful. I don't feel it was worth the money.
***
Absolutely love it, provides the right amount of vibration. It's very stimulating. Only drawback is it's tight on finger tips and I have slim fingers, after a few minutes finger turns blue.

My thoughts:

Holy cow, I love this thing! I don't know how fat the last reviewer's fingers were, 'cause mine truly are slim and I had no issues with my fingertips turning blue. And my husband is the thick-fingered giant and he had no problem with it, either.

I can attest that all of the InnerVibe gadgets with batteries do not set off the x-ray at the airport like some other products do (and I'll save that story for the big product review I plan for Valentine's).

The nanovibe was comfy on my finger, soft and squishy to the touch, got the job done in record time, and is so cute and tiny you could slip it in an evening bag for some naughty fun out on the town with your lover (or alone! If the chump doesn't move you this clever vibrator certainly will).

No cords, no dials, no bulky hard plastic containing a double A battery. Genius! I'm buying the five pack and handing them out as gifts at my next lunch with friends. Oh - and it's waterproof because the battery is self sealed in the gadget.

My Rating: 5 Big O's out of 5

Let me address something I've often read in other reviews regarding vibrating power. Most people think harder or faster is better. But that's not true. After all, a human tongue or finger can't possible match the gadgets out on today's market, and let's face facts—the Kama Sutra wasn't written last year. As a society we continually look for the easy out, rather than relax and enjoy the moment.

I had a discussion with some friends recently that made me realize most people use vibrators wrong. If you use one with constant pressure you will numb your senses. Now why in the hell would anyone do that on purpose? Pulse the stimulation on and off, not with the switch, but by moving it out of contact with your sensitive spot. Save the constant pressure for when you're close to peaking. It will effectively drive you close faster, ramp up what you are sensing, and not deaden the area with constant vibrations.

Trust me. Try it. Oh - and try it with this toy! You will not be sorry.

Next in our box of goodies: Liquid Charms.  This is a water based lube, so it's safe for silicone toys (yay!) and it's a warming gel. It claims to be never sticky, odorless, colorless, greaseless, non-toxic and non-allergenic.

Here's what one buyer had to say on Amazon:

These packs are perfect for traveling! They are re-sealable too. The package is so pretty, it looks like a chocolate box. My husband and I really like this product- it's water based and doesn't get sticky or dry up quickly. You can also use the Liquid Charms as a massage oil, but I recommend using the bath oil in the Date Night In pack instead. Two thumbs up!
***

My thoughts:

It does have a slight scent, but not overpowering and not nasty. It is slick and did not get sticky. I did not notice a warming sensation, but then again, I was busy (or is that getting busy?) The package does re-seal, like promised, and it did not leak when I tried it. But it was a bit tricky to get back open again. While I love the box comes with 12 packs, you can stash one in an overnight bag or pants pocket quite easily, I would like to see the product offered in a small bottle with a pump dispenser doling out a pea-sized drop.

The only drawback is it does have a taste to it so you will want to be careful when you apply it.
My Rating: 4 Big O's out of 5.

Last in the mailing box, not including in the weekend pack, Shea Soy Massage Mini-Candles, a Sensual Salt Soak, Massage Oil, and the InnerVibe Duet Double Pleasure Vibrating ring.

I'm going to lump the first three together because of their scents. All three products sent to me were Rose Geranium & Madagascar Vanilla scented, and are part of their Sensual Bath and Body line. Normally, I do not care for floral scents. But I have to admit, the oil was of high quality, the candles subtle when used, and the salt soak was relaxing and not too overpowering.

Even though they are not items I would normally purchase because of their scent, I can honestly rate them at four stars.

Last but not least, the Duet ring. I had high hopes for this one with the dual vibrators. The material was much improved over the original single vibe one I first bought years ago, but my issue with that one is still the same with this one. While the product design might work best for some women, it does not work well for my body.

Angle of the hips? Position needs to be girl on top? I'm not sure, but it doesn't get the job done for me. Still, it is fun and for the price I'd say it's worth giving it a go. Rating of 3.5 Big O's out of 5.

Thank you, InnerVibe, for sending me the products, and for being so kind as to include a pleasure pack for our readers here today.

Whoot! Contest time!

Want to win the Weekend Bliss Pleasure Pack containing the cock ring vibe (single not duet), the nanovibe, and the 12 pack of warming lotion? Please comment and leave your email for your chance to vote. Qualified entrants will need to be subscribers either through the Kindle, through Facebook, or here on the website with an email subscription.

I've included some links for you on Amazon - but don't misread the price. Each one is for a FIVE pack of the gadgets. Way cool!

The Family Jewels

I know we’ve all read those hot erotic stories where the hero has staying power to make sure the heroine has her orgasm first or alongside him. The reality is that some men can’t do this, or not every time. What’s a poor heroine to do? Why, get a C-ring for her man, of course.

What is it? A C-ring or cock ring fits over the penis and testicles to prolong erections.

These fabulous toys aren’t only for men without stamina, so if your honey whips one out during playtime, don’t despair. They’re also great for something different. For both you.

My husband and I recently tried the Family Jewels C-ring from Pure Romance.
If you haven’t heard of Pure Romance, they are a company that specializes in sex toy parties as a home-based business. A knowledgeable consultant will come into your home and tell you and all your friends about their products in a fun, informal atmosphere. They know their products and everything is discreet.

The Family Jewels is one of their vibrating cock rings. As you can see from the picture, there is a bullet vibrator that slides into a sleeve at the top. The sleeve has little nubs covering it. This fits perfectly against the clit during penetration.

There are two rings that hang from the sleeve. The smaller one fits around the penis and the larger around the testicles. One word of caution, make sure you use plenty of lubricant before donning the cock ring. Pure Romance recommends their Whipped or Lickity Stiff. It is powered by several watch batteries, which are included.

So those are the specs, but how does it feel? Pretty damn good. The bullet vibrator can be removed so you can play with or without it. I have to admit, when I saw the size of the rings next to hubby’s erection, I didn’t think it would fit. It looked too small, but the gel substance it’s made of is very elastic and it didn’t hurt him a bit.

The first time we tried it, we wore the batteries out. The vibrator takes a lot of juice so I would suggest not turning it on right away. Even without the vibrator on, those little nubbies stimulate the clit so each thrust brings plenty of pleasure. As things get hot and heavy, the vibration adds a little extra kick.

The vibration even feels good for your hero, although too long and he may start to become desensitized. If you take the advice on Pure Romance and use their recommended lubes, they taste yummy, so give him a little treat afterwards.

This product definitely performs as advertised and we get plenty of enjoyment from it.

Rating: 4.5 out of five Big Os

Have you ever tried a cock ring? How about a vibrating cock ring? Do you want to? I would love to hear what you have to say.

Slip Slide and Away…

Ahh.. and here we are dear readers, back again talking about great sex toys.

Today's Topic: LUBE

But before I get into that and tell you my favorite, I have something sensitive to cover: Shaving.

Most men act like this is only a woman's role, obviously, I'm not counting the shaving they daily do/or do not do on their own faces. We shave our legs and underarms, our bikini area, closer in where the bikini does not cover - and even do some artful trimming. Having no hair in certain areas ensures better access to those areas by your lover.

If it can be touched, it can be licked. If it can be fondled it can be sucked. So answer me this: Who in the hell wants hair in their mouth or... ugh... stuck in their teeth?

I've opened many a lover's eye to the joys of shaving. Here's my party line as I slaver up their unmentionables while holding a razor in my hand: It makes it look bigger, and every place that is hair-free will get a TON of attention.

Need I say more?

Men! Get out those razors and shave with care. Your partners have eager and loving mouths just waiting to explore you. Seriously. I'm not kidding. If you haven't done any man-scaping at this point in your life then you should and someone should smack your partner for accepting anything less.

Dilapidation has been around since before the Kama Sutra was written-- servants were employed strictly to hand-tweeze the genitalia of the wealthy. And the mere thought of tweezing that most sensitive of areas leaves me shuddering.

Okay - moving on past the uncomfortable hygiene lesson. Once you're smooth and ready for action here is the product to try:

The BEST lubrication I've ever used, and one I would buy stock in the company if I could, is Pjur, Original Formula, Super Concentrated Body Glide made by a company in Germany and available worldwide (but of course you can buy it right at Drugstore.com. Isn't that place just great?).

This product is fabulous for so many reasons - first, it's highly concentrated. Very little goes a long, long way - please keep that in mind when you use it (and it makes the price that much easier to understand). It is odorless and almost tasteless, although I can detect a little taste and so I plan accordingly on when to apply it. It lasts through long encounters. Having to re-lube or have the friction overpower the lube is never fun. Choosing a good product right out of the gate never cuts into the moment, it only enhances it. And last, but certainly not least, it never gets sticky, it stays the same throughout the encounter.

Here are some of the reviews online - and out of 73, almost all were 4 and 5 stars (giving it an overall rating of 4.5)
We discovered this product years ago and it is simply the best lubricant on the market. We've tried other "premium" lubricants and, frankly, they just don't hold a candle to this one. It's long lasting, isn't sticky, and washes off easily. Sure it's a bit on the expensive side, but you use much less than you do for other brands of lubricant. Well worth the extra $ in our opinion. Plus, the cap stays on tightly preventing accidental leaks. All in all probably the best lubricant we've ever used.

***

Pricey, but lasts for a few years. Just a few drops are plenty to lubricate making every thrust very smooth. Extremely enjoyable!

**personal observation here - a few years?  They need to have more sex!! Maybe six to nine months, but years? Eek-gads!
I was introduced to this product by a boyfriend years ago and have kept an eye out for it ever since!! Not only did I find it here, the price is significantly lower than a store I happened to find it at the week after I got my order from here delivered! You don't need a lot, and by that I mean start with one drop and see if you need a second, the reapplication is almost never needed, and it just makes the whole experience that much better, be it boyfriend or toybox you are spending the evening with!

***

Due to post menopause and sjogren's sydrome the issue of intercourse had been an impossibility for over 5 years. Now I have returned confidence and intimacy with my partner. This product is fantastic. No more burning or friction. Forget the replens product.

***

It takes some getting used to if you use water-based lubes most of the time, but in the end it's worth it. I have been searching for the best "backdoor" lube and have tried a lot of great products, but this one really takes the cake - the greatest selling point is that it does not need to be re-wetted. It's also thick enough that you don't need to use very much, and it warms up instantly - none of those "this might be cold" moments, haha. Like others have mentioned, it does not get sticky, and makes skin very soft and nice-feeling! You need to use less, and it lasts forever, so even though it costs more, it lasts a lot longer than other lubes, and is well worth the price, to me. However, I have found it is not really suitable to use with silicone toys as it seems to melt them a little (oops) and is very difficult to wash off.

I've been using it for over ten years now, when it used to be called Eros, and if this company ever goes under I'll be buying the stuff by the case to ensure I never run out in my lifetime.

C.J.'s Rating: Five Big O's

Little known fact for another reason why to have lube on hand: Women who take baths (over showers) may not get the fast response from their bodies they are used to (and thus, may require assistance from an outside lubrication) - the warm water leeches moisture from their skin. All of their skin, inside and out.

So even if you're soaking in the tub with the latest erotica book, gearing yourself up to seduce your husband, or enjoying a soak in anticipation to a pre-arranged lover's tryst - please be aware that the bath water will leave you not as "ready" as you might like (or as ready as your mind is after all that sexy reading!).

Lube is every lover's friend. It will allow you to explore positions and openings you may not have in the past, it can help give you a satisfying quickie, it can speed up your enjoyment of a tryst if your lover is large and your body isn't accommodating as fast as you'd like, it can make those toys feel incredible, and as you age it can help replace the natural moisture your body produces due to less hormones.

Pjur is a silicone based lube. This is important! Do not use it with silicone based toys. It creates a surface reaction on the toy that breaks down the item's silicone, causing it to deteriorate and lose the slickness that makes silicone toys so special. For these types you'll need a water-based lubricant.

A good one I've found is called Wet. But it still isn't as good as the Pjur, so that means I don't buy many silicone toys. Yes, I like the product that much. Oh and in doing research for this post for online links, I discovered there is a new product called Pjur Aqua that is a water based product, so I'll be buying that today to see how well it works. The reviews were split on whether it was any good, so who knows.

Grab that lube and get your freaky on! The fun has just begun!

The Cone

Hello and welcome to a new topic we plan to cover every month - sex toys.  Is the subject taboo?  Do you ever mention it at parties? Well, how do we learn about these interesting items?

Do we fork over hard earned cash and hope for the best? After all, I don't think many of us would have the cajones to actually return a product we've used... er... um... intimately. Stop by here and see what I've tried and liked and maybe visit some links where you can check out some other reviews by real people.

I promise the sites will never be something you could get arrested for visiting and never something you have to worry about opening (i.e. pictures of naked people, and/or porn stuff) unless I have otherwise noted.

The first item I'm reviewing is one I've mentioned in my manuscript, Vampire Vacation. Hopefully, an editor won't make me remove all references to an actual brand in the final published version, but we'll have to wait and see.  I've given this item as a gift and talked about it with a group of friends going over my MS (dubbed Gossip Fest), and hence, a lot of my neighbors now own it.  All have glowing things to say.

The Cone

Ah... a nifty gadget with pictures for an instruction manual--which I've posted randomly throughout this review (forgive the crappy quality, it was all the site had). The product bills itself for both male and female use and I can understand how it would stimulate the prostrate, so why not?

It has two buttons (see above), one that turns it on and off, and one that helps you rotate between all sixteen vibrartion/pulsation settings. Sixteen?!?  Yes, (Oh, yes!) you read that right.

There is also a feature that when you press and hold the on/off button down for a few seconds it jumps to the big "O" setting.  The ever-changing fast-paced setting is designed to drive you to your peak quickly.

We had friends who attended our adults-only halloween party this year and they hated the costumes they'd purchased. They arrived late to the party because they decided to go with a more unique homemade costume--they wore robes over undergarments/nighties, had condoms and lube spilling out of a robe pocket, and carried the empty cone box in one hand!  They announced upon arrival, "We're sorry we're late. We were busy."

Man, I never laughed so hard in my life!  The kicker to all this is the wife did not attend that fateful Gossip Fest night, nor did she get it as a gift from me.  She read my manuscript and went to the web to find the product! Her husband likes it so much--and has become a staunch advocate of the cone--that he suggested we give it to another friend for her birthday this past January.  Now, if you knew this straight-laced, amiable guy you'd be spitting vodka out of your nose like I almost did when he suggested it to me at a New Year's Eve party.

I'm pretty sure I bought our Cone at drugstore.com, but it was much pricier two and half or three years ago when I got it.  Did you even know that website have a sexual well-being section that delivers cool stuff to you in a drugstore.com box?  Can't get any better for buying sex toys, you know?

It was a risky purchase.  I wasn't so sure it was worth the $129.00 price tag.  Or course, last year when my tipsy friends left my house and scrambled home to the Internet, they found it on Amazon for much less.  It even comes in black now! While I can't say this toy will be the "one" that you use every time you decide to incorporate a gadget when you make love, I can tell you that whenever it comes out of the drawer it's an enjoyable night!

You'll read some amazing reviews and you'll read some luke-warm ones regarding any product.  Real people using real gadgets can all expect completely different results.  I can tell you one thing, out of the eight people I know who've used it they all agree on The Cone's rating:

Five Big O's

(with five being the highest)

Ease of Use: Five out of five stars

(seriously, you hit a button and it's hands free, doesn't get much easier than that!)

Here are some SAFE reviews you can view from Amazon, please check out the good and the bad.  Every voice is unique, but I can tell you that most people who like a sex toy don't talk about it online, it's only the few who don't care for an item that will speak up. (and not many want their name on the review!)
